The beginning of a new life

The employees of the NGO got acquainted with the patient at NTC. The patient hasn’t had any acquaintance in Armenia. He was ethnic Armenian but had Georgian citizenship. The patient with spinal tuberculosis had been underwent 2 operations during the 5 months of inpatient treatment course. Interruption is a new and long beginning

The CBM team received an alarm from the TB cabinet of Aresh polyclinic. The doctor of the Cabinet informed that 2 years ago the patient with HIV/ susceptible TB had received treatment at NTC then continued at polyclinic. The end of the treatment was not successful, as during the final medical research the patient had weight loss, which gave serious concerns. On 12 of March, in front of the Government building, AIDS center specialists protested against the government’s decision to merge with the NORK infectious diseases clinical hospital. Preventing of wrong solution

A patient diagnosed with drug-resistant TB (BK+) has been at NTC for several months. By his behavior he has caused a lot of problems for both medical staff and security personnel. He used to go from NTC for 4-5 hours used alcohol frequently, then returned in drunkenness condition and violated the rules of hospital. This is not an example

Based on close collaboration between the PPAN NGO and NTC the community-based monitoring team (CBM) got an information from NTC that one of the TB patient who was on outpatient treatment had refused to take medication. NGO staff contacted with the patient and had telephone conversation. It turned out that the patient also had Dekterev disease and therefore refused to take the medication. Hepatitis C treatment is free if you …

On December 27th of 2019 at NTC of RA was organized meeting with 21 TB patients who were on stationary and ambulatory treatment at that moment. During the meeting participants and trainers talked about the mechanisms of getting disability status, the possibility of preferential conditions during TB patients’ operations, MRT research out of fee possibilities, hepatitis C research and access to treatment. Timely assistance

The patient who was on TB treatment at one of Yerevan’s Polyclinics had not taken any medication for a week and had poisoning as consumed a toxic amount of alcohol . Community based monitoring specialists got such information simultaneously from TB Cabinet doctor and patient’s mother. During home visit CBM team found out the patient in a toxic state.  CBM team decided immediately transport him to a multi-profile hospital by ambulance. Treatment access of TB co-infections in RA

On November 28th of 2019 at NTC of RA was organized meeting with 23 TB patients who were on stationary and ambulatory treatment at that moment.
