Community-based targeted training for TB beneficiaries
On February 27th of 2018 a training course on capacity building of TB community was implemented by the initiative of ‘’Positive People Armenian Network’’ Soc. NGO. The targeted training conducted by the best specialists of TB field which had 2 directions:
- Improving knowledge concerning TB, treatment adherence: factors, forms, consequences, importance of drug administration, patient care
- Development, introduction, guidelines of monitoring and evaluation tools of TB sphere
Margarit Zalibekyan (Doctors Without Borders French Mission), Anush Khachatryan (National Center for Tuberculosis Control) as well as Greta Khachatryan (vice-president of ‘’Positive People Armenian Network’’ NGO) presented the above mentioned topics in details.
During the training the active participation of TB community (who had or have TB) provided the opportunity for the practical transition of the event through proposed questions, solution detections, parallel of situations with their own experience…
For them also were presented the perspectives of their involvement in certain TB monitoring processes, ways of knowledge acquisition and referral mechanisms.
Within the training sum-up the representatives of TB community together with the experts watched PSA on early detection of TB which filmed among other activities of “Changes are possible. Act Now” project funded by the TB REP regional program.
As an organization that builds capacity for TB community we believe that these modules of targeted education are also preconditions for having informed activists and civil society.
