Activism as an awareness raising tool

On February 12, 2018 a meeting with more than 20 TB beneficiaries took place at Conference Hall of PPAN NGO. Within the meeting they proceed with the successive steps of decoding​​ activism as a tool for raising awareness idea.

The selection of the stakeholders was conducted during the needs assessment survey which was done among 240 TB patients. During the meeting the history of our NGO, advocacy activities, working schedules, already registered successes and further plans were presented in detail. In this section full concept of targeted days, promotions, presentation forms and prevention activities were also presented to the participants.

The subsequent reference was made about international TB networks/institutions  and their functions. Three people from the audience showed interest in membership of TB People Network. The NGO staff carried out that action and made it possible for interested participants.

TB beneficiaries of the meeting were facing a number of issues. Their worries directed to our NGO’s social sector employees and the lawyer were included to agenda of the meeting as well. After the general questioning, the relevant specialists were consulted with about 10 beneficiaries (referral, disability group, retirement benefits) and guided solutions steps on the raised issues. The participants also expressed their desire to join PPAN’s conducted actions and advocacy activities. At the end of the meeting there were also touched agenda concept of next meeting, the scheduled TB conference and March 24 actions Plan.
