International experts presented the functions of social Contracting

On October 5-6 of 2018 a meeting was held at the office of PPAN NGO aimed at strengthening the capacity of the TB community when it comes to supporting the patient-centered model of TB patients through the social contracting agreement. Timur Abdullayev was invited to Armenia for conducting this meeting. Timur works as a human rights and public health consultant. Most recently, he has worked for UNDP, the World Health Organization and the Global Fund. Currently, he is a member of the Coordinating Board for the Stop TB Partnership, Global Fund CRG Advisory Group, Interim Steering Group of Eurasian Network of People with Experience of Tuberculosis and the Steering Committee for the TB Europe Coalition. T. Abdullayev headed 2-days lectures jointly with Arshak Gasparyan (Social Justice expert, International expert in the sphere of Criminal Justice of Council of Europe , President of ‘’Social Justice’’ NGO). A. Gasparyan has conducted a research in Armenia with the support of the TB Program (TB-REP) aimed at supporting legal/social factor of “Changes are possible. Act now ” project by presenting the existing opportunities and resources of the social contracting/delegation, the services providing by different institutions, their varieties and the analysis of the possible expenses. As a result of the joint work of international experts the first day of the training was discussed the concept of social order/contract, examples of social projects implemented within the framework of the social contract, were touched the peculiarities of the social order/ contract in Armenia, were done practical work with the participants and developed work plan within sectoral segment. Thematic development also was provided on the second day of the training when the speakers linked factors of necessary changes of the social order/contract platform in the Republic of Armenia, as well as advocacy work and the development of the referral strategy in order to revise format of the existing social order/contract in RA. The training participants were representatives of NGO and partner organizations as well as people who survived from TB. The topic itself was complicated in terms of presenting and studying within the framework of 2 days training, but this meeting may be considered as a start of a big work. At the end of the meeting, the attendees were given an opportunity to comment on the choice of course experts, accessibility and efficiency of the training. The presenters also proposed topics that they would like later to have lectures and increase knowledge.
