Meeting with the Chief Hepatologist of the Republic of Armenia

On December 18 of 2019 within the framework of the micro-elimination program of hepatitis C implemented with the support of the World Hepatitis Alliance the staff of PPAN NGO met with Hasmik Ghazinyan (the Chief Hepatologist of the Republic of Armenia). During the meeting the participants discussed the work plan of the Hepatitis C micro-elimination program, the research possibilities and treatment availability of Hepatitis C in the Republic of Armenia.

The chief hepatologist of the Republic of Armenia in details presented that the research on detection and genotype determination of viral hepatitis C antibodies is free of charge for listed RA citizens. Check the list >>>

She also mentioned that only the patients who have been diagnosed with genotype “1b” are given antiviral drugs by free. All this has been possible to arrange based on ‘’Armenia-Artsakh’’ Fund donation (օmbitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir+dasabuvir (3D)) to Ministry of Health of RA.

The participants of the meeting agreed to continue the close cooperation in order to achieve the results outlined in the program.
