Timely assistance

The patient who was on TB treatment at one of Yerevan’s Polyclinics had not taken any medication for a week and had poisoning as consumed a toxic amount of alcohol . Community based monitoring specialists got such information simultaneously from TB Cabinet doctor and patient’s mother. During home visit CBM team found out the patient in a toxic state.  CBM team decided immediately transport him to a multi-profile hospital by ambulance. Team faced with difficulties as it turned out that help cannot be assisted in the transferred hospital as there is no relevant department. Staff of the hospital contacted to another hospital with an appropriate department but they were told they cannot help the patient because of lack of vacancy. The CBM team made possible the patient transportation to another hospital through personal contacts where finally the patient was provided with care. The patient has already been discharged from the hospital. CBM team stays in touch with the patient on a daily basis for insuring control over taking TB drugs and eliminating drinking of alcohol.
