Helping hand melting barriers
The first meeting with our patient Aram (the name has been changed) was in late November 2017 at ”Armenicum” hospital. Nearly 10 years ago he divorced and for now getting with touch only with his elder daughter although has 3 children. Realities as well as family ignoring him which directly harming his life conditions, social status. By the help of our peer counselor he started to attend our help-groups meetings and communicate with the once that in somehow survived in such situations.
However, his health conditions got worse and the only help there was blood exchange. The hospital staff rejected do the needed actions as of his non-eligibility of payment. Our staff members firstly connected with his daughter and call her to be next to father and help spiritually. In other hand our staff started great campaign of negotiation for solving blood exchange issues. The actions got its positive results and our Aram got needed treatment block. During New year holiday seasons Aram’s health condition again got worse. The Medical Clinics canceled to accept him during New year days as of med staff absent. Our Case manager and Peer counselor Arman in that days were with our Aram. Again, he had to stay at hospital and again by the help of our staff got non-payed treatment course. Here was found that he had TB which reverted his stay at hospital not possible. He continued his treatment at National TB Center. He was possible to get health care service within the state order only by our staff efforts and uncounted follow up. His health condition for now is better as he already moved to ambulatory treatment for TB. Due to our hard work he connected with his family again. Surely we continue our support to Aram within his stay at hospital and then and he knows that issues with his stay, legal gaps, psychological advises can get everywhere and anytime.
